About me
I’m Dávid. I like to understand how things work.
I work from Drnholec in South Moravia. I have been developing web and mobile apps for over ten years, from smaller websites to products with their own backend, administration and iOS and Android versions. Outside work I’m also a dad, a chess player and someone who spends time on the mat.
Who I am
I started programming in secondary school and have worked in development full time since 2018. I gradually moved from smaller websites to systems where the frontend is one of several layers: web apps with a backend and database, mobile apps for iOS and Android, integrations with point-of-sale systems and hardware, and administration tools for daily operations.
As an independent contractor for GPS Dozor, I develop mobile apps for fleet management, family communication and location tracking. Alongside this collaboration, I work on my own products.
I most enjoy work where I can take responsibility for the whole: understand the problem, design the product and UX, decide on the architecture, build the frontend and backend, deploy and run it. Depending on the project, that whole may be a complete mobile app or a product of my own, from the first design to production.
As technology has evolved, so has my process. AI is now a regular part of my work, from analysis to implementation and verification. Technical decisions, quality control and responsibility for the result remain mine. The goal is a system that works, can be maintained and will still make sense to someone other than me in two years.
How I work
I want to know why. Then I work out how.
I ask a lot of questions at the start. Who will use the product, what do they need to do, and what does a normal working day look like? The answers shape the interface and the technical decisions.
I like solutions that are easy to understand. When I return to the code a year later or someone else takes it over, the reasons behind its design should be clear.
I plan for deployment, maintenance and the next version while designing. I also care about how an app explains an error or outage to the person using it.
I speak directly. When I see a simpler approach or a problem in the brief, I bring it up early. I work best when we can say these things openly.
Background
How my responsibilities have grown.
First personal and paid projects
I built my first paid websites and smaller projects, took part in IT competitions and hackathons, and won several awards. This is where my professional journey began.
Developing full time
I have worked in development full time since 2018. I gradually moved from smaller websites to web applications with a backend, database and administration, where the work involved the entire system as well as its interface.
Complex web and mobile systems
For the Hajcer restaurant, I work on an iOS and Android app, its administration and point-of-sale integration. Full-stack development connects what customers see on their phones with what the restaurant needs in day-to-day operation.
GPS Dozor: from frontend and mobile apps to AI-first development
I work with GPS Dozor (TLV, s.r.o.) as an independent contractor. I started with frontend and mobile apps and now work as an AI-first developer. I contribute to FindeeKids and independently built the entire GPS Dozor 4.0, Findee Pets and Findee Guardian mobile apps. A colleague developed the backend for those three apps. Alongside this collaboration, I build my own products, ObjednámSi.sk and Asylia.

Outside work
On the mat, at the chessboard, with my family.
I practise Brazilian jiu-jitsu. I won a European championship in it, and the mat belongs in my life as naturally as the laptop.
